Ballast water
Cleaning of ballast water comes as a requirement for ships of a show the size and distance after 01/01/2016.
Redox BWS (Ballast Water System)
The requirements are stringent, and there are only a handful
that have been approved worldwide so far. It stipulates that
approximately 40,000 ships in the day, plus 3-5000 new buildings
each year will need a system for purification of ballast water.
Redox has run several tests at NIVA (Norwegian Institute for
Water Research), and the last test, we passed the requirements IFRA
International Maritime Organization (IMO) for cleaning /
disinfection of ballast water. There remains some tests before
being approved, but we are well on our way, and expects to be
approved during 2012.
Our approach is entirely chemical and will take up little space.
The system fits as well on new ships, which the ship is in
operation because of little space.
Our systems will act IFRA 10 - 10000m3 / h.
We have a patent applied for our system.
